Terror Birds are also beastly and can kinda float/fly if needed.
Direwolves will get a pack bonus, and don't need a saddle.perfect for a new player. There is no shortage of these dinos, so it's an easy tame. *Defense/offense dinos - Direwolves or Terror Birds. Also, they can store water.which is very needed on Scorched Earth. They can also harvest wood and thatch, but not as well. They can carry a decent amount and harvest berries and cactus sap (needed for adobe) very well. *Land dinos - I'd recommend a Morellatops. You'll need to bola them, because they flee when attacked. You'll want to stick with a low level tame at 1st, because if you don't have kibble, they take FOREVER to tame. It's pretty useful for making an escape and luring/kiting dinos into traps. They have a "spore" attack that can be used to slow hostile dinos. They are meant to be the starter flying dino. I play on an official PVE server, so my opinions are formed from that.
